The Faculty of 华人策略网站_华人策略中心论坛-【体育娱乐】& and Quantity Surveying (FEQS) at INTI International University demonstrated their academic excellence at the Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation, and Technology Exposition (IPITEx) 2024, which took place in Thailand from 2 to 6 February 2024. The exposition, organised by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), showcased 608 inventions from 25 countries.
INTI emerged as a frontrunner at the event, securing an impressive tally of awards, including one gold, five silver, three bronze medals, and two special recognitions. These accolades were awarded to a distinguished group of faculty members: Associate Professor Ts. Dr Lee Hoong Pin, Professor Dr Muhammad Izzat Nor Ma’arof, Mohd Amir Shazwan Hashim, Yong Thian Haw, and Professor Ir. Dr Leong Wai Yie.

Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr Lee Hoong Pin, from the Faculty of 华人策略网站_华人策略中心论坛-【体育娱乐】& and Quantity Surveying (FEQS) at INTI International University, proudly celebrates his Gold Award on stage at IPITEx 2024.
Among the notable inventions was the “Catalyzed Biomass Concrete (CBC)”, developed by Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Lee Hoong Pin, in collaboration with students from the Civil 华人策略网站_华人策略中心论坛-【体育娱乐】& department. This patented technology enhances structural integrity and integrates renewable energy within building materials, significantly advancing sustainable construction practices.
Prof. Dr Muhammad Izzat Nor Ma’arof, Mohd Amir Shazwan Hashim and Yong Thian Haw led projects that addressed real-world challenges. Their inventions, including the “Compliant Mechanism for Knee Exoskeleton,” “Lightweight Personnel Crossing Bridge,” and “Narcotics Detecting Mobile Robot,” were recognised for their potential impact on safety, defence, and law enforcement.
“The inventions were developed to support and facilitate Malaysia’s Ministry of Defense operations concerning the safety and well-being of civilians, with applications for both the infantry and logistics units. The Narcotics Detecting Mobile Robot is specifically designed for law enforcement,” Prof. Dr. Muhammad Izzat Nor Ma’arof explained.
Meanwhile, Prof. Ir. Dr Leong Wai Yie’s inventions in advanced medical imaging and analysis demonstrated a commitment to addressing critical healthcare challenges through innovative technology.
INTI’s participation in IPITEx 2024 allowed them to showcase their groundbreaking work and engage with fellow innovators and industry leaders worldwide. This interaction will influence future research and development initiatives, driving continuous improvement and fostering international collaborations.
